Website Terms

Hastings Fly Fishers Club Limited · Effective date: 1 November 2026

These terms explain the conditions for using the HFFC websites, online reservations, memberships and shop. Select a heading below to read the full section.
1. About these terms

These terms apply to the public website at hastingsflyfishers.co.uk and the online shop at shop.hastingsflyfishers.co.uk, operated by Hastings Fly Fishers Club Limited (HFFC). They cover use of the websites and associated online facilities. Separate Club Rules and conditions shown when booking or purchasing may also apply.

2. Club details

Hastings Fly Fishers Club Limited operates at Powdermill Reservoir, East Sussex. Telephone: 01424 870498. Registered office: Unit 2.02 High Weald House, Glovers End, Bexhill, East Sussex, England, TN39 5ES. Company number: 00265927. Email: enquiries@hastingsflyfishers.co.uk.

3. Website access

We aim to keep our websites accurate and available, but access may be interrupted for maintenance, security or technical reasons. We may correct errors and update content. Any changes affecting an existing purchase or booking remain subject to applicable law.

4. Accounts and security

Where an account is provided, you must give accurate details, keep your sign-in credentials secure and notify the Club if you suspect unauthorised access. Restricted member, shareholder and administrative areas are for authorised users only.

5. Reservations and equipment hire

Fishing permits, boats and outboards may be reserved online or through the Club. Availability is subject to confirmation. Please check the booking date, permit type, anglers and equipment before completing your reservation. Fishing is subject to the published Club Rules, operating hours and relevant statutory rod-licence requirements.

6. Amendments, cancellations and refunds

Where supported, booking amendments and cancellations can be requested using the booking-management facilities or by contacting the Club. Fishing permit cancellations requested up to and including the booked fishing day qualify for a full refund of the cancelled permit. Failure to attend without requesting cancellation (a no-show) does not itself qualify for a refund under this policy. Amendments carry no administration fee, subject to availability and any price difference. Where the Club cancels a paid booking for safety, unsuitable conditions or closure, it will refund the cancelled booking. Refunds are normally made to the original payment method. Equipment-hire cancellation arrangements should be checked at booking. These conditions do not affect statutory consumer rights. The Club may need to change arrangements for safety, equipment or operational reasons and will explain the options available.

7. Membership and shareholder services

Membership applications, renewals and benefits are subject to the Club’s governing documents, eligibility requirements, published charges and Club Rules. Membership and guest privileges are not transferable unless expressly permitted. Shareholder information is available only to authorised persons.

8. Online shop and orders

Goods, prices, delivery and collection arrangements are described in the online shop. An item placed in a basket is not a completed order. Order acceptance and fulfilment are subject to the checkout arrangements. The Club does not offer discretionary change-of-mind returns beyond applicable statutory rights. This does not affect rights for faulty, damaged or misdescribed goods or any statutory cancellation rights applying to distance sales. Dispatch is ordinarily arranged by Saturday each week; delivery and collection details are provided at checkout.

9. Payments

Payment options are displayed during the relevant transaction. Payments must be authorised by the person making them. Where a customer pays using a Square terminal, they may choose to provide an email address or telephone number to receive a receipt. This is optional.

10. Catch returns

Catch-return obligations and fishing conduct are governed by the Club Rules. How personal information in catch returns is handled is explained in the Privacy Policy.

11. Acceptable use

You must not interfere with the website, attempt unauthorised access, introduce malicious software, impersonate another user, submit fraudulent information or reproduce protected material without permission.

12. Copyright and external links

Unless otherwise stated, website text, photographs, branding and other content belong to HFFC or their respective rights holders. External links are provided for convenience; independent sites have their own terms and privacy practices.

13. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. Applicable statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.

14. Privacy and changes

Personal information is addressed in the separate Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. We may revise these terms and publish an updated effective date. Existing contracts remain subject to applicable law and the conditions agreed when entered into.

15. Law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to mandatory consumer protections. For questions, contact the Club using the contact details on its website.

Publication checks: Confirm the effective date and any outstanding equipment-hire cancellation arrangements before formal publication.
